Best Google Smartphones 2024

  1. Google Pixel 8
  2. Google Pixel 8 Pro
  3. Google Pixel 7
  4. Google Pixel 7a
  5. Google Pixel 7 Pro

Google has started making smartphones under its brand since the Nexus days, albeit in collaboration with other manufacturers. Only with the arrival of the Pixels, however, did Big G’s real adventure as a company producing mobile devices begin, which soon became a cult object for Android purists. If you are looking for something more generic, we suggest our best Android smartphone guide, where you will find more significant differentiation in terms of products.

We have divided the best Google smartphones into various categories to make searching easier. In the following list, you will find the various sections into which the guide is divided:

  1. Best cheap Google smartphone
  2. Best mid-range Google smartphone
  3. Best high-end Google smartphone
  4. Best top-of-the-range Google smartphone
  5. Best Google smartphone by battery
  6. Best Google smartphone for camera
  7. Best cheap Google smartphone

There are no low-end Google Pixel smartphones, which are a voluntary choice of Google itself. The American company immediately decided to focus on the top of the range and, only later, on the mid-range, so we cannot recommend very low-cost products.

Best Mid-Range Google Smartphone

With the invention of the “Pixel” series, Google has officially opened the doors to customers more attentive to the quality/price ratio. In fact, these devices are equipped with hardware that is not at the top—but of good quality—and costs much less than the top-of-the-range Pixels.

Google Pixel 7a

Pixel 7a is an authentic best-buy for fans of the series. It boasts a 6.1″ OLED display with FHD+ resolution and 90 Hz refresh rate, protected by Gorilla Glass 3. Powering the device is the Tensor G2 processor (1 Cortex X1 at 2.85 GHz + 2 Cortex A78 at 2, 35 GHz + four Cortex A55 at 1.8 GHz) with ARM Mali G710 MP07 GPU. The RAM is 8 GB LPDDR5, while the storage space is 128 GB UFS 3.1. The photographic kit includes two rear cameras (one 64-megapixel primary camera and a 13-megapixel wide-angle one ) plus a 13-megapixel front camera. The 4,385 mAh battery is good with 18-watt charging (not very fast, but on the other hand, there is support for Qi wireless charging ).

Best High-End Google smartphone

Although the Pixels have a high list price, the transition from one generation to another allows you to find older models at lower prices. Therefore, it is sufficient for the high-end to rely on the former top-of-the-range to find top-level performance at more reasonable costs.

Google Pixel 7

Google Pixel 7 is at the top of the range for buying. It boasts a 6.3″ AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution (1080 x 2400 pixels). Powering the device, we find a Google Tensor G2 octa processor assisted by a Mali-G710 MC10 graphics processor. We then have 8 GB of RAM and 128 / 256 GB of ROM, unfortunately not expandable. We also find a photographic sector worthy of the top range with a 50-megapixel primary camera (equipped with double flash and stabilizer) and a 10.7-megapixel front camera. Battery life is also good, thanks to the battery (non-removable) being 4,350 mAh.

Best Top-Of-The-Range Google Smartphone

The real heart of the Google experience on smartphones is the top-of-the-range Pixels. These are products with excellent hardware and software with attention to minor details to ensure the best intelligent functions the Californian house can provide.

Google Pixel 8

Google Pixel 8 is a compact smartphone. We have a 6.2″ OLED panel with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 and a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz (but not LTPO). The screen supports HDR10 + and has a peak brightness of 2,000 nits. The processor is the identical new one, Tensor G3, of the Pro variant. The RAM of this smartphone amounts to 8 GB, and then we have the memory cuts of 128 and 256 GB, all of which are in UFS 3.1 technology. Pixel 8 is equipped with a dual camera system. The main one is a 50 ƒ/1.7 optically stabilized megapixel camera accompanied by a 12 ƒ/2.2 wide-angle lens with automatic focus for macros. Given the smartphone’s size, the 4,575 mAh battery does not disappoint expectations.

Google Pixel 7 Pro

Google Pixel 7 Pro boasts a 6.7″ LTPO AMOLED display with 1220 x 3120-pixel resolution (can be lowered to Full HD+ via software to save some battery). The Pixel 7 Pro hardware is a top-of-the-range premium; under the body, we find the second generation of Google Tensor (G2), a 5 nm octa-core Google processor supported by a Mali G710 MC10 GPU. Google Pixel 7 Pro is equipped with a set of three main cameras (one 50-megapixel with optical stabilization, a 48-megapixel 5x zoom, and a 12-megapixel wide-angle one with a larger sensor than the previous year and autofocus for macros) and a front one. The 5,000 mAh battery is excellent.

Google Pixel 8 Pro

Google has expressed itself to the maximum with this new Pixel 8 Pro in terms of hardware (with the new Tensor G3 ) and software. It boasts a 6.7″ LTPO OLED technology screen with almost QHD+ resolution and a refresh rate between 1 and 120 Hz. The RAM is 12 GB, and we have 128, 256, or 512 GB of internal memory. The photographic sector is one of the aspects of most significant interest in every Pixel smartphone (the 50-megapixel ƒ/1.68 optically stabilized primary sensor is excellent .) This Pixel 8 Pro has a good battery life thanks to the 5,050 mAh battery.

Best Google Smartphone By Battery

Google has never attempted to produce a real battery phone. Indeed, the batteries mounted on its models are often smaller than those of the competition. Fortunately, there are exceptions, and we will discuss these below.

Google Pixel 8 Pro

Inside the Google Pixel 8 Pro, we find a powerful 5,050 mAh battery ready to guarantee excellent autonomy to the device. The smartphone then charges at 30W wired and around 20W wirelessly (the latter a little faster than the former). This is a beautiful, extravagant, updated Pixel with lots of battery life and top cameras to consider.

Best Google Smartphone For Camera

One of Pixel’s most significant boasts is its photographic quality, which many consider to be at the top of the industry. This is thanks to the software processing, which always allows you to obtain excellent shots in any light situation, even at night.

Google Pixel 7

It won’t have the zoom camera of the Pro model (which we proposed immediately after), but the Pixel 7 is still a tiny camera phone. The primary camera and the wide angle are a perfect match. Sharp photos with excellent colors and precision, fast focusing. 4K videos at 60 fps are also excellent.

Google Pixel 7 Pro

Google Pixel 7 is an actual camera phone. The primary sensor is an optically stabilized 50-megapixel ƒ/1.9, while the secondary is a 12-megapixel ƒ/2.2 wide angle, although it is not equipped with an automatic focus for macros. The photos are excellent. They are at the rentrulyual top of the premium range.

How Do We Choose Google Smartphones?

To analytically compare the various Google smartphones on the market, it is necessary to keep some focal points in mind. Below, we report the elements we have decided to highlight in our selection, briefly explaining each category.

  1. Display: Screen size and image quality are very important in managing the user experience best, but panel technology, LCD or AMOLED, must also be evaluated.
  2. Hardware: in this category, what counts are the processor’s power, the amount of RAM and internal memory, and the optimization that the company has carried out on the individual smartphone to harmonize these elements best.
  3. Cameras: two or more cameras are better than one, although you must evaluate the quality of the sensor and the versatility of any additional lenses.
  4. Autonomy: One of the simplest elements to evaluate is the battery’s energy capacity mounted on the smartphone. But be careful about software optimization, which sometimes makes the difference.
  5. Functionality: some models have exclusive features, such as advanced intelligent functions, innovative sensors, or a particularly refined design.

All the products described may change in price and availability over time, so we always advise you to check these parameters before purchasing.
